Treatment introduction
Modern extracapsular cataract extraction surgery involves removal of the lens fibers, which form the nucleus and cortex of the cataract, leaving the posterior epithelial capsule to hold the new artificial intraocular lens (IOL) and keep the vitreous humor away from the anterior chamber. Post-surgical Care
1.Don’t do any strenuous activities for a few weeks.2.Don't drive cars or ride scooters until you feel comfortable and your vision stability.3.Follow your doctor’s orders regarding any antibiotic and anti-inflammatory eye drops.4.These are important to prevent infection and inflammation and ensure proper healing.5.Avoid dirty and dusty environments for at least 1week.6.Don’t rub your eyes for at least 3 months.7.Avoid pools, spa, hot tubs, hot spring and beaches for at least 3 months.8.No eye makeup for at least a week.9.No smoking.10. Take high-fiber food, fruits, vegetables and high-protein food.11.Take health supplements: DHA, fish oil, Lutein(5-10mg/day) and Benfotiamine.12. It is normal that have mild eye pain at the first day after surgery, but if the pain is severe, or it causes you to have a headache or vomit, please contact us immediately.
