Treatment introduction
The causes of brachial plexus injury may vary based on different age group. In neonates, this type of injury mostly comes from birth injury (shoulder dystonia). In other age groups, the injury mostly comes from traffic accidents and different kinds of traction and compression injuries. Most of the injuries result from motor vehicle accidents. In other hospitals, brachial plexus injury is mostly mistaken as cervical spine injury and the treatment mostly consists of multiple specialties, which entails the complex coordination of different surgical treatments. However, the Division of Orthropedics in E-Da Hospital have experience in treating cervical spine problems, upper limb fractures, joint injuries, and brachial plexus injuries together. This results in more integrated and timely treatment for patients. We have experience in tendon transfers, neurolysis, neurotization, and free functioning muscle transfer, which means that we can treat all kinds of disease group for brachial plexus injury.The treatment for brachial plexus injury is complicated and individualized.
