Welcome Message from Minister ShihChung Chen of Health and Welfare

Taiwan’s high-quality health care services have been praised as “Taiwan’s Medical Miracle”. With leading physicians, innovative medical technologies and advanced medical equipment, we not only provide specialization in medical treatments and services, but also publish research results in multiple fields in international medical journals. Furthermore, many of our hospitals have experiences in hosting international conferences and workshops, and many of our doctors have also been invited as guest speakers to other countries.

On the other hand, Taiwan has well-organized clinical training programs for foreign medical professionals since 2002. In fact, we have outstanding hospitals that have been recognized internationally in the area of complicated medical surgeries, such as organ transplantation (e.g. liver and lung), treatments for cardiovascular diseases and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), minimally invasive surgery, and many more. Having these advanced skills and knowledge, we have attracted more than 3,000 medical professionals from 126 countries to Taiwan for clinical training programs in the past 5 years.

We believe in the proverb that “teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime”. Continuous learning and practical trainings help these participants develop skills and keep abreast of the latest medical technologies, preparing them for emerging health challenges in their homelands.
