Our hospital is the only public medical center in the Kaohsiung and Pingtung areas. Our mission is to provide medical services, to conduct medical research as well as acting as a teaching and training hospital.

The Department of Health also has appointed our hospital to be the medical disaster response command center for the Kaohsiung-Pingtung area.
