Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation(ECMO)

NTUH ECMO program was started from 1994. We provide a comprehensive and integrated ECMO training program, covering neonatal to adult, and heart to lung.

Achievements

Up to 2019, NTUH-ECMO team has operated more than 3000 ECMO patients, with 150-200 patients annually in past 5 years, and 40% overall survival rate.

Our program also features ECMO-assisted CPR (ECPR), one of the best practice in the world.

More than 180 papers of ECMO-related issues published in high quality SCI journals from our team in past 20 years, including Lancet, Circulation, JACC, Intensive Care Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, and so on.

We have trained 193 foreign medical staffs by work shop and fellowship, including physicians, surgeons, nurses and perfusionists.

Qualified licenses (medical degree or equivalent) with more than 1-year clinical working experience.
