The general surgery of our hospital is the most active minimally invasive surgery team in China.

Provides the most complete surgical options for patients, including mini-laparoscopic cholecystectomy, routine intraoperative biliary tract photography, and total minimally invasive resection of Dawenxi robotic arms with benign and malignant biliary tract tumors.

Achievements

The success rate of laparoscopic appendectomy and cholecystectomy have been over 99% for more than 10 years. We also engage in the innovative development of MIS liver, pancreas and biliary (HPB) surgery and have the largest series of laparoscopic hepatectomy in Taiwan including many first reports in Taiwan like laparoscopic right hepatectomy, central hepatectomy and caudate lobe resection. Over 80% of hepatectomy patient here are completed by laparoscopic or robotic approach which is among the highest percentage in the world. In March 2012, we reported the 1st pure laparoscopic right donor hepatectomy for living donor liver transplant in Taiwan. This made us the 2nd team in the world to perform this highly sophisticated procedure.

Learning Targets

1. Laparoscopic surgery in patients with acute abdomen, including gastrointestinal perforation, peritonitis, intestinal adhesion, biliary tract and gallstones, acute appendicitis, cholecystitis

2. Minimally invasive hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery, right hepatectomy, caudal lobe resection, middle hepatectomy

3. Total laparoscopic right liver donation for liver transplantation

4. Da Vinci's robotic arm is operated in hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery.

5. Minimally invasive biliary surgery cholangiocarcinoma
