The microsurgery surgical achievements in the department are unrivaled in the world,  and create a new breakthrough in the difficult microsurgical reconstruction, such as voice reconstruction with autologous intestine, and appendix reconstruction of the vagina with the large intestine, reconstruction of the cervix with the cecum, reconstruction of many organs (esophagus, ureter and urethra), limb reconstruction, reconstruction of the head and neck and reconstruction of lymphatic system.

Prof. Hung-chi Chen as the Director of the International Service Center also has his special ideas on treatment of lymphedema. Depending on the patient's severity, various surgical modalities, including modified Charles' surgery, extensive subcutaneous tissue excision with preservation of perforators, and lymphatic tissue transplantation, are very effective in alleviating lymphedema in the patient's upper or lower extremities.

Prof. Hung-chi Chen has trained around 200 foreign doctors from the United States, Britain, Italy, Belgium, Brazil, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore and South Korea, etc.
