Clinical performance：

1. Our Pediatric Cardiology Department has set a number of records in the past decade. For example, 75% of children underwent open-heart surgery do not need to have cardiac catheterization first. They only need to undergo echocardiogram before surgery and the ratio is the highest in the country. It reduces social costs and the physical and mental burden of patients. In addition, cardiac catheterization for congenital heart disease also has excellent achievement, so that the patients can be treated by cardiac catheterization without surgery. Other studies such as the prevalence of anti-penicillin pneumococci are also important in the southern region. We also offer 36 kinds of allergen specific test and quantitative analyzer for the diagnosis of allergic children.
   The complication of congenital metabolic disorders can be reduced by antenatal diagnosis, genetic counseling, neonatal screening or special diet treatment. The patients with various neurological abnormalities can also be fully diagnosed and treated. Many children with epilepsy are able to resume normal work and rest under medical control.
2. In addition, prematurity of 590grams survives under our neonatology department’s care. We also involve in the clinical care of critically ill infants in the regional medical network, and maintain a good interaction with regional hospitals and obstetrics and gynecology hospitals, offer high quality medical services. The mortality and mobidity rate of premature infants can be maintained at a low level. The ratio of severe intraventricular hemorrhage of the premature infants in our hospital in 2017 is much lower than the average data in Taiwan, and we are commended and rewarded by the Taiwan Neonatal Medicine Association. On average, we cared for more than 300 newborns who need intensive care per year. We also can provide neonatal therapeutic cardiac catheterization. Currently, we treated a premature infant who weighted 1500 grams with patent ductus arteriosus successfully.
