The Kaohsiung University Hospital (KMUH) joint reconstruction team was led by Dr. Huang Hsuan-Ti and Professor Chen Chung-Hwan, highly specialized in knee and hip replacement surgeries.

Achievements

The KMUH and its joint reconstruction satellite facilities performed about 1000 total knee and hip replacement per year, from primary knee and hip replacements to complex revision surgeries and orthopedic oncological reconstructions. The successful rate and satisfaction rates were well-above average.

The KMUH orthopedic department had an orthopedic research center. With publication of innovative investigation in knee arthritis and osteoporosis treatment

Applicant Qualification

A qualified orthopedic surgeon with the clinical experience from 2~5 years
The trainee should be able to speak English or Mandarin.

1.The pre-operative plotting and planning of primary knee and hip reconstruction

2.The tension balance technique in total knee replacement

3.Bone defect assessment and reconstruction in revision knee and hip arthroplasty

4.Complex revision hip surgery with different surgical approaches

Learning Skills

1.Uni-Knee with mobile or fixed bearing surface

2.Primary total knee replacement with different alignment balance

3.Treatment of post-traumatic hip osteoarthritis
