The Department of Plastic and reconstruction surgery established in 2004 is an internationally known high-volume center for microsurgery. Here, our specialists provided high quality care in a multi-disciplinary setting, mainly for patients with head and neck cancers, but also other reconstructive needs.

We have completed more than 3000 free flaps transfer for reconstruction of difficult wounds, and our Head and Neck Microsurgical Reconstruction team has been awarded the Symbol of National Quality.

We regularly make academic contributions to multiple internationally recognized journals in the field of plastic surgery, including an article awarded the Best Reconstructive Paper Award in 2015 in the journal Plastics and Reconstructive Surgery.

Our department also offers microsurgical fellowship programs to train the future generation of reconstructive specialists and since 2007 more than 50 fellows from all over the world have completed our program.
