Established in 1994 and led by Professor Jeng Wei, the Heart Center of Cheng Hsin is proud of having a strong heart team of cardiac surgeons and cardiologists, sparing no efforts to improve the quality of medical services and to develop the level of the professional competences. Over the past two decades, we have been putting into resources to upgrade surgical and medical equipment and dedicated to provide sophisticated, highly-effective techniques and treatments, including the transcatheter heart valve interventions.

Achievements

We operate 80 cases annually in different aortic pathologies, including acute/chronic aortic dissection, aortic-annual enlargement (AAE), aortic aneurysm. The team advocates multidiscipline approaches to treatment these patients, incorporating open repair, hybrid reconstruction and transcatheter implantation of stent graft. From our recent publications, the hospital mortality and morbidity were and respectively.

Our research team has published extensively in the fields of aortic surgery. The program leader, Prof Jeng Wei also had a patent for a sutureless aortic ring connection (Vasoring connector) that using in aortic surgery.

We have trained more than 20 surgeons, technicians, and nurses all over the world.

Applicant Qualification

  • Additional fee, needed a certification for general surgery or after 3-year training in surgical field
  • A certification for cardiothoracic/cardiovascular surgery is best for the course.

  3. How to set-up the CPB for open and hybrid aortic surgery
  4. TEAVR and EVAR procedures
  5. Perioperative caring for aortic patients.
