Minimally Invasive Surgical Technique of Cochlear Implantation

The department of Otorhinolaryngology of Taichung Tzu Chi Hospital includes experienced surgeons, audiologists, and speech-language therapists.

We offer a standard protocol evaluation, genetic counseling, diagnosis, and pre-and post-implant rehabilitation.

The two surgeons, Chairman, Dr. Hung-Pin Wu and Professor Chuan-Jen Hsu have been on the academes committees of virtually all-major national and international meetings about cochlear implants.

We had conducted over 50 cases of cochlear implantation annually and has 100% successful rate of operation.

Minimally invasive surgical technique including small wound, which is less than 2.5 cm, and soft technique cochlear insertion is our routine.

Our team also emphasize on postoperative rehabilitation including cochlear activation, mapping and auditory habilitation/rehabilitation. 

Achievements

Our team publishes around4-8 researches of Otorhinolaryngology and Cochlear Implant per year in international journals.

Our surgeons have been demonstrated cochlear implant surgeries over the world, e.g. Indonesia, Mongolia, China, Malaysia.
