Burn Injuries Management Project Training Program

Hospital Name Taiwan International Healthcare Training Center (Managed by Taipei Hospital, Ministry of Health and Welfare)

In recent years, terrorist attacks, factory, gas, and dust explosions have been occurring around the world, resulting in a great number of severe casualties. Thanks to Taiwan's advanced medical system and state-of-the-art response networks, we were able to take immediate reaction in the 2015 New Taipei Water Park dust explosion incident and safely handled large volumes of patients with burn injuries in a proficient fashion. TIHTC proudly presents this EBM program dedicated to burn injuries in cooperation with Taiwan Society for Burn Injuries and Wound Healing. Our training program is instructed by professional instructors with practical experience to demonstrate how to successfully arrange accurate treatments for burn-injury patients, efficient prognosis, and to improve the quality of recovering.

Achievements

The Taiwan International Healthcare Training Center (TIHTC) was established in 2002 by the Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW), and executed by Taipei Hospital, MOHW. TIHTC offers training and exchange programs for medical professionals around the world to continue their clinical training in Taiwan.

In the past 18 years, over 1,600 health professionals from 68 countries have received training through TIHTC, which helped their own countries' health system get improved. Furthermore, TIHTC has received over 1,200 international visitors from 63 countries, provided international medical rescue assistance 20 times, and signed official cooperation agreements with 35 hospitals and international organizations in countries such as India, Indonesia, Luxembourg, the Marshall Islands, Mongolia, Philippines, Russia, Thailand, the United States, and Vietnam. Since the training of the first international healthcare personnel, the Center can now train over a hundred international medical, health, and administration personnel per year.

In 2011, Taipei Hospital established the first international healthcare exhibition center in Taiwan to commemorate its achievements in training and international cooperation. By the unwavering efforts of Taipei Hospital, it received the Bronze Award of 2012 National Biotechnology and Medical Care Quality Award, recognizing TIHTC as the top international healthcare personnel training institution in Taiwan.
