The Division of Thoracic Surgery primarily serves patients with diseases arising in the chest, including the lungs, mediastinum, and esophagus.

Achievements

  1. We had conducted 108 cases of lung transplantation and has 50% transplant rate which is comparable to the major center in Taiwan.
  2. Viet Duc Hospital assigned one team (11 people) to NTUH for lung transplant training during June, 2018 to Dec, 2018. After training course, they successfully completed two cases of lung transplantation.
  3. Lung center in Philippines assigned 4 people to NTUH for lung transplant training during 15 Nov 2015 to 31 Dec 2015.

We published 10 papers and had 24 lectures about lung transplantation.

We have trained 14 surgeons from all over the world.

Qualified licenses (medical degree or equivalent) with more than 1-year clinical working experience.
