The cardiology and cardiovascular surgery department of Far Eastern Memorial Hospital was established as the Center for Cardiovascular Medicine on July 1st, 1989. It is a pioneering work of the Taiwanese medical community, in order to maximize the effectiveness of the team and bring all cardiovascular patients to the hospital.

We have performed more than 3,900 coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), 2,700 cardiac valve surgery, 2,000 minimally invasive cardiac surgery, 56 heart transplantation. More than 2,000 cases of bypassing the great saphenous vein were taken by endoscope, and more than 85% valvular heart surgery are minimally invasive. We are the first team in the country to fully promote cardiac catheterization from the hand flexor artery, and the implementation rate continued to exceed 95%. 

At the same time, we combined with neurosurgery to implement the ischemic stroke and reperfusion treatment team, combined with trans-venous and trans-arterial treatment has more than one hundred cases.
