The Department of Radiation Oncology of FEMH currently have 4 radiotherapy systems including 2 state-of-the-art TomoTherapy® image-guided radiotherapy (IGRT) system, one Elekta Versa HD linear accelerator and one high-dose-rate (HDR) iridium-192 after loading brachytherapy. We became the first dual-Tomotherapy center in Asia.

We have published more than 50 peer-reviewed articles outlining its clinical experience with the IGRT system. With outstanding reputation and innovative approaches for cancer treatment, we treated more than 5,000 patients with different cancer sites.

Our department is not only one of Top TomoTherapy Reference Centers in Asia Pacific region but also the only one medical center with the honor of Symbol of National Quality (SNQ) of TomoTherapy in Taiwan.

Successfully completed the first “whole bone marrow radiotherapy” in Asia in September 2007, significantly reducing the many side effects of using whole body radiation therapy before bone marrow transplantation. We become the third in the world to have this highly difficult treatment.

We also successfully assisted the University of Cambridge's Hospital to complete the first spiral bone marrow irradiation combined with bone marrow transplantation.

In September 2013, the world's first "Helical Irradiation of Total Skin (HITS) was published for the refractory and extensive cutaneous lymphoma.
