The department of General Surgery has set up an exclusive surgical team consisting of attending surgeons, nurse practitioners, Surgical assistants and Case managers to provide patients with the most complete medical care from initial diagnosis to postoperative care. Surgery team is working hard on the development of minimally invasive surgery such as da Vinci surgery and laparoscopic surgery in the digestive tract (hepatobiliary and pancreatic stomach), thyroid disease, breast surgery and hernia surgery also actively establish the application of reduced port technique in minimally invasive surgery.

Achievements

We have the largest volume of da Vinci Surgery in General Surgery field since 2016 in Taiwan.

474 da Vinci and 621 laparoscopic procedures have been performed from July,2015 to June,2018, including 221 single-incision da Vinci and 255 single-incision laparoscopic procedures. The ratio of total single-incision surgery was 43.47% (476/1095); In da Vinci surgery, the ratio of conversion from single-incision to multiple-incision is less than 5%.

We will do oral presentation at the annual meeting of the Taiwan Surgical Association and have three SCI papers published.

Total of 268 Foreign doctors who underwent surgical training or observation in our hospital from May, 2016 to May, 2019 including doctors from Italy, Germany, Hungary, Greece, India, the Philippines, Thailand, Japan, South Korea and China.
