Dr. Huai Ling Wang | NUWA Fertility Center

Ms. Luo and her husband from Guangzhou had been trying to conceive for many years, but joy never arrived. They had previously undergone a second-generation IVF cycle at a top public hospital in Guangzhou, which initially resulted in a successful pregnancy. Sadly, during a routine check-up in the second trimester, they were told that the baby had Down syndrome and were advised to do induced labor. The experience was devastating for Ms. Luo. At 38, she knew clearly that her next attempt would need to be through third-generation IVF to ensure a healthy baby.
Before coming to Taiwan, Ms. Luo did extensive research online and consulted her friends in Taiwan. To her surprise, Taiwan had over a hundred hospitals offering IVF. She reached out to several well-known fertility centers via email, phone calls, and online consultations. After comparing her options, she chose the nationwide fertility network, NUWA Fertility Center. Following a one-on-one consultation through the official WeChat account, she began applying for a medical visa. Once it was approved, she and her husband made plans to travel to Taiwan for treatment.
“Don’t Put All Your Eggs in One Basket”
Ms. Luo expressed her deep gratitude to Dr. Huai Ling Wang at NUWA Taichung. They retrieved 7 eggs, and 6 were successfully fertilized. Dr. Wang recommended sending only half (3 embryos) for genetic testing first — which helped ease financial pressure. Fortunately, all 3 tested embryos came back normal. Dr. Wang then advised, “Don’t put all your eggs in one basket,” so they decided to transfer just one embryo first — hoping for a successful outcome.
Thanks to NUWA’s 4th-generation AI-assisted IVF technology, the embryo implantation was successful on the first attempt. Ms. Luo was overjoyed and incredibly thankful.
She also shared that, compared to her previous IVF experience in Guangzhou, the treatment at NUWA required significantly fewer medications, mostly just injections, which reduced the physical burden. The injections could also be self-administered at home, unlike in Guangzhou, where she had to frequently take time off work to visit the hospital. This made the process much more relaxed and allowed the couple to enjoy their stay in Taiwan while undergoing treatment.
