At 40 years old, she carried more than just the hope to start her own family. Despite having frozen embryos remaining, the scars of those two previous IVF failures loomed large, casting a shadow over her hope.
With great encouragement from her family and friends, she found the courage again and began traveling from Kaohsiung to the NUWA Fertility Center in Taichung, searching for a glimmer of new hope. During her first consultation, Dr. Huai-Ling Wang personally conducted a comprehensive evaluation. After meticulously reviewing every detail, he tailored a special medical treatment plan specifically for this couple. This strategic approach successfully retrieved 15 mature eggs, which developed into 3 healthy embryos.
Following the PGT-A (PGS) chromosomal screening test, the report showed that 2 of the 3 embryos were mosaic, presenting a clinical challenge they would have to navigate together.
Can a mosaic embryo result in a successful pregnancy?
Facing the news of "mosaic embryos," the couple initially felt a sense of uncertainty. However, through detailed clinical consultation, they learned that these embryos are not failures. A mosaic embryo still contains both normal and abnormal chromosomes. In a wonderful turn of events, the embryo implanted successfully! The pregnancy remained stable, and the expectant mother has now officially "graduated" at her 10 weeks of pregnancy, ready to welcome her very own little miracle.
Maximizing pregnancy potential: Understanding mosaic embryos. The critical role of chromosomal health in IVF success.
Following a thorough consultation, the couple chose to proceed with the “low mosaic embryo”. They were encouraged by the fact that this embryo still held a high potential to develop into a healthy baby and had the ability to self-repair during development.
For parents-to-be, this is a viable option to consider for a successful pregnancy. Always, of course, with the guidance and approval of your physician.
Throughout this journey, the couple felt deeply supported by the unwavering professionalism and care from NUWA medical team. Every conversation and every tiny adjustment to their treatment plan was a move toward success. This couple's story proves that even with just one embryo, miracles are possible. NUWA Fertility team refuses to give up on even the smallest glimmer of hope, believing that every moment of hard work can eventually bloom into a lifetime of joy.
