Global Leaders Gather at TICS-2025 — Tungs’ Taichung MetroHarbor Hospital Unites Experts from Eight Nations to Advance Urology

This year, Tungs’ Taichung MetroHarbor Hospital co-hosts the TICS-2025 International Urology Conference with the Taiwan Innovative Clinical Society (TICS), Taiwan Urological Association, Taiwan Association of Nurse Practitioners, Tung Chuan-Sheng Education Foundation, Taiwan Urologic Oncology Association, and the College of Life Sciences at National Chung Hsing University.
The conference will be held on November 21–22, with the TICS-2025 Launch Press Conference taking place today (November 19).
The event was attended by Tungs’ Chairman Dr. Min-Che Tung, R&D and Innovation Center Director Dr. Yen-Chuan Ou, Urologist Dr. Chang-Ho Chiang, and Nursing Director Supervisor Shih-Ping Tseng, alongside distinguished guests including:
- Dr. Tzu-Ping Lin, Deputy Director of Surgery, Kaohsiung Veterans General Hospital

Da Vinci SP Urology Observation Center Certification
During the event, Mr. Chi-Sheng Yang of Intuitive Surgical formally presented a plaque certifying Tungs’ Hospital as an official Da Vinci SP Urology Observation Center, recognizing Dr. Yen-Chuan Ou as Taiwan’s first certified proctor for Da Vinci SP urological surgery training.
Since introducing the newest Da Vinci Single-Port (SP) Robotic System on May 23, Dr. Ou became the first in Taiwan to complete a SP radical prostatectomy.
To date, Tungs’ Hospital has completed 250 SP robotic procedures, with Dr. Ou performing more than 50 successful cases, offering patients the benefits of minimal incisions, faster recovery, and improved quality of life.

Mr. Chi-Sheng Yang emphasized that physician training is the core of medical innovation. Beyond providing the Da Vinci surgical system, Intuitive actively builds a comprehensive training ecosystem—simulation, clinical observation, and proctor development—to ensure surgeons worldwide can deliver optimal patient outcomes.
He expressed honor in welcoming Tungs’ Hospital as a key training hub within this global ecosystem.
