A female pastor from Mongolia had long suffered from disorders affecting both hip joints. At one point, even walking a few steps seemed like an impossible dream.
Her hope was rekindled when she learned that a fellow Mongolian pastor had traveled to Chia-Yi Christian Hospital (CYCH) for bilateral hip replacement surgery and successfully returned to everyday life after the procedure. Seeing this remarkable recovery inspired her to believe that she, too, could have a chance at a better life.
In August this year, she traveled more than 3,000 kilometers to Taiwan, entrusting her hopes to the medical team at CYCH.
From surgery and accommodation after hospital discharge to personalized rehabilitation guidance provided by a physical therapist at her residence, the CYCH team supported her throughout the journey. At CYCH, care does not end in the operating room. It continues with every step patients take as they return to their daily lives.
After making a smooth recovery, she personally wrote a heartfelt thank-you letter in both English and Mongolian:
“Thank you for giving us a new and healthier life!”
These simple yet powerful words express the trust and gratitude that transcend borders.
Three thousand kilometers can be crossed. Language barriers and national borders can be overcome. And with medical expertise and compassion, hope can travel thousands of miles to reach everyone who needs it.
