Myanmar patient received the da Vinci surgery for colon cancer

Taipei Medical University Hospital   Last Update:2017-02-14

A patient from Myanmar was constantly worried about his health due to a bloody stool condition that had afflicted him for many years. But due to the lack of readily available medical resources, he wasn’t able to get proper treatment. Near the end of 2016, Mr. Naing came to TMUH for a consultation and decided to receive treatment here. A colonscopy was performed by our experienced medical team and Mr. Naing was diagnosed with malignant colon neoplasm. After first undergoing a week of Tomo Therapy to reduce his malignant neoplasm, the da Vinci Surgical System was used next for more thorough and precise tumor excision. The treatment was highly successful and Mr. Naing is on the fast road to recovery.
