Tiangong Temple is beside the coast highway in Dali fishing village, Toucheng Township, Yilan County. Its original name was Qingyun Temple. The worshipped god is the mighty God of Heaven (Tiangong) from Zhangzhou. In the 16th year of Emperor Daoguang's reign in Qing Dynasty (1836), residents required a religious center for their mental reliance, so they decided to establish the temple. The temple was simple initially. After experiencing several times of repairing, it became a large temple like what we see today after it was rebuilt in the 30th year of Emperor Guangshu's reign in Qing Dynasty. The temple has been 195 years old. Dali Tiangong Temple neighbors with green Caoling Mountain on the back and confronts the wavy Pacific Ocean. Visitors enjoy the broad vision and appreciate the red light of sunrise and the beautiful landscape around Turtle Island. Many tourists come here to appreciate the beautiful landscapes on purpose. The lane beside the temple leads to the back mountains. In the back of the temple is the outlet of Caoling Historical Trail. Every January 9th in the lunar calendar is the local festival. Countless distant disciples come here to worship the gods. After worshipping and praying, they appreciate the distant tide from the loft in the temple. ''Dali tide appreciation'' is one of the ''eight Lanyang scenery spots. In particular, when northeastern monsoon visits Taiwan, the coast is wavy and magnificent with tremendous momentum.
