There are two hiking routes in Green Island， one is the Footpath Crossing the Mountain and the other is the Historic Mountain Trail. The Trail was the only road connecting Nanliao to the hot springs before the Round-the-island Highway was built. The Footpath is developed especially for hikers. Both routes are located in Nanliao where the governmental offices such as the island's administration office were located.
