Because Taishan is located on the foot of a mountain， it used to be called "Shanjiao，" which is the origin of this mountain's hard to pronounce name. Some hikers simply climb to the 153-meter high peak to find the survey drawing and marker located at the top. You can begin taking the trail up from Cixiu Park， which is located beside Taishan High School. The thick forest provides shade and coolness， and when you reach the top you have a good view of central Taishan and Xinzhuang. Despite its proximity to the city， it feels like you are far from the urban bustle.
