International Center The awards ceremony of the top honorable international medicine service award in Taiwan, the 6th International Medical Model Prize, was held on November 10th at the grand hall of the Ministry of Health and Welfare. China Medical University Hospital (CMUH) won the 6th International Medical Model Prize in the 2021-Group Award following the Individual Award and Group Award in 2017 and the 3rd Individual Award in 2018. They hold the record of the most awards won in total with four. Despite the COVID-19 global pandemic, CMUH can still successfully create breakthroughs by way of the integrated innovation model to promote the Taiwan-branded international medicine and service internationalization and obtain such fruitful results. Superintendent Der-Yang Cho of CMUH mentioned that when they won the award it was like sunshine lighting up the room reflecting the value of the development of international medicine in Taiwan. "We are completely ready to dedicate our efforts to the development of features like smart medicine and remote medicine in response to government policy and facilitated international medicine in Taiwan." o:p>/o:p> Using Medicine to Make Worldwide Friendships – Fight on the front line of endemic prevention and continuously deliver warm, high-quality services o:p>/o:p> China Medical University and Medical System is well planned and supported by Chairman Chang-Hai Tsai. CMUH, led by Superintendent Der-Yang Cho, has become the top medical center of traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine. With the International Center as the major point of contact and featured medicine as the backbone, it can promote the brand and image of Taiwan international medicine to the world. Superintendent Der-Yang Cho of CMUH mentioned that the instructions and assistance of the Ministry of Health and Welfare in the promotion and development of international medicine are highly appreciated. The host of the awards, the Taiwan Global Healthcare Association, was very thoughtful and attentively conducted the event and ceremony, overcoming many difficulties, while many events are pending or have been cancelled due to the global pandemic. The International Center of CMUH has earned the recognition of the judges for the theme of "Using Medicine to Make Worldwide Friendships, integrating marketing resources and developing a new path for Taiwan international medicine" and demonstrated their excellent results across many different areas, including featured specialties and international patients, being a marketing pioneer of the international brand, allowing Taiwan to be seen by the world, medical diplomacy, cultivating talent in Guam, taking on critical cases with international humanitarian assistance for charities each year for four countries, providing excellent access to medicine for critical patients and providing humanitarian medical charter flights despite the pandemic, feedback from international patients and the increasing patient visits to the hospital.o:p>/o:p> The International Center of CMUH is responsible for two important areas of international medicine development and brand promotion worldwide. CMUH was established with excellent medicine, new facilities and equipment, medical plans with high efficiency, a friendly service encompassing foreign languages and reasonable service charges in combination with medical tourism, the insurance industry and many more initiatives that have helped build a medical service that saves time and is a one-stop shop for international patients. International communities and Chinese people around the world can experience high-quality and friendly medical care and services from highly reputable Taiwan international medicine. Recognized by the IMTJ Medical Travel Awards for its work with Guam and assisting with medical diplomacy, helping Taiwan to be seen by the world o:p>/o:p> CMUH is the first of all hospitals in Taiwan to consecutively win the IMTJ Medical Travel Award hosted by the International Medical Travel Journal (IMTJ) in 2019 and 2020, encouraging others to start initiatives so they can also complete for an award. CMUH collaborated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to introduce two WHA international promotional videos, "Looking Up Again" in 2020 and "A Perfect Pair" in 2018. These two videos have gathered more than ten million clicks. The hospital was also the first to hold local press conferences in Guam and Myanmar to advertise the international brand image of Taiwan. o:p>/o:p> Despite the international lockdown due to the COVID-19 endemic, CMUH still assisted with severe critical cases from Vietnam and Guam and flew patients to Taiwan for medical treatment. As these are two countries without holistic diplomatic relations, arrangements were complicated and without government budget support. The hospital donated 200,000 face masks to Guam and collaborated with the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in Guam and the Guam Taiwan Office (GTO) to facilitate the Guam humanitarian medical charter flight to expand the effectiveness of grass-roots diplomacy. By allowing the excellent medical contributions of Taiwan to be seen by the world, the positive international image of Taiwan has been elevated and we have been recognized for our international friendship, integration of resources and interpersonal network from cross-territory enterprises, government and NGOs in six cases of international humanitarian assistance in Guam, Myanmar, China and Vietnam. CMUH is leveraging the integrated innovation model to facilitate excellent international branded medical services of Taiwan. We are building an environment for international medicine with mutual advantages for Taiwan and partnering countries and echo the government policy of facing the international society together and “Using Medicine to Make Worldwide Friendships ".o:p>/o:p> o:p>/o:p> o:p>/o:p> References: 4 awards, a new record for CMUH o:p>/o:p> 2021 6th International Medical Model Prize – Group Award (International Center)o:p>/o:p> 2018 3rd International Medical Model Prize – Individual Award (Body Science & Metabolic Disorders International Medical Center Superintendent Chih-Kun Huang)o:p>/o:p> 2017 2nd International Medical Model Prize – Individual Award (International Center Superintendent Hung-Chi Chen), Group Award (International Center)o:p>/o:p>
