After a year of preparation, the Obstetrics and Gynecology Reproductive Medicine Center at Kinmen Hospital was established and approved by the National Health Agency for Assisted Reproduction Institutions at the end of 2015. Kinmen residents no longer need to travel to Taiwan for medical treatment. By simply registering at Kinmen Hospital, they can receive various evaluations and consultations related to infertility, and even undergo procedures such as artificial insemination and in vitro fertilization (IVF) at the Reproductive Medicine Center within the hospital.
Currently, the Reproductive Medicine Center at Kinmen Hospital meets the standards of a "Reproductive Medicine Department" in terms of equipment and specialized personnel. It actively expands its facilities by adding operating rooms, laboratories, and other necessary reproductive equipment. The aim is to localize medical services and introduce reproductive medical technologies and equipment, reducing the need for residents to travel between the two places. The key services provided by the Reproductive Medicine Center include infertility treatment, IVF treatment, artificial insemination, ovulation disorders, polycystic ovary syndrome, and endometriosis. In terms of environment, the center offers a warm and comfortable treatment space with professional services. The hospital also has a dedicated medical team led by Dr. Huang Yu-shu in the field of reproductive medicine. The team members, including embryologists and counselors, are qualified personnel recognized by the National Health Agency for Assisted Reproduction. The center's equipment is on par with top international reproductive centers, utilizing state-of-the-art instruments such as high-powered microscopes, dry incubators for embryo culture, and sterile workstations for sperm and egg manipulation.
In addition, unlike other hospitals, the Kinmen Hospital Reproductive Medicine Center promotes the concept of healthy diet and regular exercise. It provides the most professional dietary education and exercise planning, believing that "having a healthy mother leads to a healthy baby." The center emphasizes the integration of the latest reproductive medical technology and equipment, initiating individualized lifestyle modification programs under the "Patient-Centered Approach," aiming to create a new frontier in assisted reproductive medicine.
