Nangan's Renai Village was once called Tieban, and it once flourished as the location of a produce market and the county government.Although Tieban gradually grew quiet when the market and County government moved elsewhere, the residents' efforts to preserve and develop the settlement are apparent everywhere, from the large old photographs hung outside homes, engraved archways and more. The Mt. Guanmao Nature Trail that runs behind Tieban was once a major military base, but the villagers later transformed it into an ecological park, full of greenery yet retaining signs of its military past.
