The entrance of Dulan Mountain's hiking trail leads to the Dulan Forest Area, Si Mountain and Shangde Qikuaicuo. Once you get to the hilltop, the panoramic view of the Taiyuan Basin, and the south of Chishang, the Taitung Rift Valley and plain are right in front of your very eyes. While overlooking the Pacific Ocean on your east side, Green Island and Orchid Island (Lanyu) are distinctively visible. It is a great place to hike and overlook the far and beyond. Despite its low height, Dulan Mountain's lofty outline and the appearance of a steep incline were given a symbol of sacredness by the Aborigines on the Taitung Plain since the ancient times. Dulan Mountain also known as a Holy Mountain, which signifies the traveler's ambition and longing for home. As Dulan Mountain continues to stand above Taitung and stays firm against the harsh storms, it became a commonly depicted theme in folk costume, culture and art.
