Because Guoye Village is on the dune slope on the northwest side where there is a yellow hibiscus forest， and yellow hibiscus tree is commonly called Guoye， hence the name. This Guoye forest is evergreen. In spring and summer， the yellow flowers flourish. The east of Guoye Village is facing the beach， and the connected sea and sky enable a very broad vision. It is very famous and typical attraction to appreciate the sunrise. While here， you must first climb the Sunrise Observatory， because the Sunrise Observatory enables to look down from a height and provides the most suitable point of view to watch the sunrise especially if the weather is good， overlook the sea on the east， the red rising sun slowly rises from the sea in addition， as Penghu has no light pollution， the sky gradually changed from the original dark and gray to orange-red the golden sun rises from the sea level and the whole sea surface instantly glitters with bright orange luster against the golden sun due to the special erosion terrain on the beach， when the reflected sunlight is again reflected on erosion terrain. Because the erosion terrain is broken， the light reflected on the rock is like diamonds floating on the sea， glistering golden lights the whole sea is like warriors wearing golden tunic， marching forward along the golden sprays.
