Caipuao is located in the northeastern part of Xiju , in the jurisdiction of Tianwo Village. The production rights of a large rock area near the shore belong to the Marshal Chen Temple, and whenever the laver harvest rolls around the temple's management committee holds bidding to determine who gets the right to harvest the laver growing on the rocks. Before the Qingfan deep-water wharf was finished, Caipuao provided the main summer access to Xiju . When winds and waves reach grade 7, boats need to dock here. The shoreline at Caipuao is made up of classic conical granite, arms of which radiate into the sea. The coastline here has a varied terrain and the currents are changeable, making the area good for fishing and harvesting shellfish.
