Take time to look at the exquisite architectural details. Having two courtyards is a special feature.You can wander into two of the houses. One is furnished in Qing Dynasty era-style, with a traditional Chinese bed, typical ancestral hall and kitchen as it would have been used before gas and electricity. The other house displays photos and information about similar Overseas Chinese sets of houses built in Mainland China around the same time as Shanhou.
