Hou'ao (or ""rear bay"") Village is so named as it situated behind Baisha Village. It is a classic example of a fishing village and is known primarily for its main house of worship, Yanggong Bashi Temple, which comes to life at festivals throughout the year.Of the many beautiful buildings here, none stands out so much as Historic Home No. 53, a museum of classic Eastern Fujian-style architecture that has been fully restored in line with the research and suggestions of scholars. It has become a focal point of local life, with residents, soldiers and tourists all enjoying this new village center.Scholars and writers have made the place a second home, including poet Luo Ye, who got the inspiration for his piece ""That Eastern Fujianese Feel"" here. Another famous visitor was poet Cheng Chou-yu, who graced the museum with her presence in 2005.
