Xinliao Waterfall Trail

Xinliao Waterfall Trail is located inside the Jhong Shan Recreation Farm. There are dense trees， clear streams， a 250 meter high waterfall， and beautiful views. Along the way， you will find species like Brown Tree Frog， Sauter's Brown Frog， Citrus Swallowtail， Euphaea Formosa， Pantala flavescens， Lime Butterfly， Myophonus Caeruleus， Plumbeous Water Redstart， and Formosan Rock-Monkey. It takes only 2 hours to finish the trail so you won't feel tired after visiting it. To preserve the natural environment， besides two suspension bridges and two wooden ladders， the rest of construction is made of black slab stones and logs from local sources. The former part of the trail is pave by sawdust. It is comfortable to walk on it. It is a good place where you can smell the fragrance of logs and enjoy phytoncide and negative ion in a green shower. There are shades of trees and streams by your side， so you feel cool and walk at ease. You don't need to wade into the water to reach the waterfall. In the end of the trail， there is a platform where you can appreciate a close-up view of this tremendous waterfall. There is more negative ion near the waterfall， and the scenery looks like a rain forest in the subtropical zone.
