A cultural and educational foundation for Meishan peopleIn the mountain village where agriculture is the economic locomotive, a group of people believe that culture, not economy, brings peace to the mind of human beings. In May 1994, a group of Meishan people who have devoted to education and culture for a long time found that culture and education are the solution to the bustling society. If there is a foundation as the base for promoting artistic and cultural activities, it worth trying! After working for 3 months, the founders collected 2 million dollars gradually and met the legal requirements. In the same year, they realized the dream and the Meishan Cultural and Educational Foundation was formally established in the hall of Meishan Elementary School on September 28, 1994. In 1995, Council for Cultural Affairs promoted national Art Festival and Meishan raised the local awareness of the old trail with “Meishan Hanlu”. A culture and history workshop was later established to study the local history and collect history materials and literature because it is the foundation. They search the old name, interview the old men to dig out the fading memory and visit the old trail hidden in brushwood.
