The Dabang Village of Alishan Township boasts abundant natural resources in its two main eco-reserves: Iskiana and Taptuana. To keep their primitive forests intact, people in Dabang have worked hard to preserve life forms in the rivers and woodlands. The Taptuana Natural Reserve is one of Alishan’s largest treasure troves of natural resources, given its estimated 73 bird species, including: the Black Bulbul (Hypsipetes leucocephalus), Red-headed Babbler, Muller’s Barbet and White-throated Flycatcher Warbler (Abroscopus albogularis), besides rivers teeming with fish.
