The 5-kilometer trail is a part of the Fushan tribal reserve in Leye Village. Hikers in the trail’s well-paved Miyang-Fushan section will be impressed by the constant chirping of birds and sounds of insects from a diverse forest eco-system, while being frequently greeted by birds inhabiting mid- or low-altitude areas, such as: Muller’s Barbet, Steere’s Babbler (Liocichla steerii), Red-headed Babbler (Stachyris ruficeps), Formosan Yuhina (Yuhina brunneiceps) and White-eared Sibia (Heterophasia auricularis). A summerhouse on the historic trail commands a mentally and physically refreshing view of Miyang Waterfall.
