The White Sand Tourism Port is an important doorway of Little Liuqiu. The tourist center at the pier is a very special building. The most common way to go to Little Liuqiu is to take a boat. When the boat gets near the White Sand Tourism Port, the first thing coming into view is “Vase Rock”. It is at the beach right next to the port. At a height of 9 meters, the rock’s shape looks different at each angle. Some people say it is like a vase. Others say that it looks like a mushroom. Still others would say it is like the head of a queen. No matter what it looks like, the rock has become the most famous scenic spot of Little Liuqiu. Because it is so close to the pier, Local people see it as an important mark of the White Sand Tourism Port. Therefore, it is often the first stop of a trip to Little Liuqiu. There is a pier for undersea viewing boats at White Sand Tourism Port. The underwater world around Little Liuqiu has a rich ecology. There are coral, tropical fish, long-spined sea urchins, sea cucumbers, seaweed, etc. They form so beautiful a picture that special boats are built for tourists to appreciate the ecology of the underwater sea bed. The part of the boat under water has a glass window for tourists to see through.
