Shili Beach In the northwest of Shili settlement in south Penghu, there is a hill much like the black gauze cap of ancient officials, so the hill is called "Shamao Hill", and Shili settlement is just located at the extending cap ear (pronounced as "Shi" in Taiwanese), so it obtained the name "Shili". The Shili Beach in the Shili settlement is quite a popular attraction in Penghu. Because the Shili Beach formed due to wind deposition is not large in scope, in 2008, the Ma Gong City Office reconstructed it into Shili Leisure Center. On the opposite of Shili Beach is Shili residents' religious center - Narcissus Palace! (IMG_2521) In the past when I came to Penghu to write these travel notes, because the accommodation provided by my friend was just behind the Narcissus Palace, I am quite familiar with this Shili Beach. The sand of Shili Beach looks beautiful golden. In the sunset or dawn, here is my favorite place. By the beach, there are two pavilions built in Narcissus Palace, very ideal for trance. Some people said "To travel on an island, it is most suitable to find a pavilion to be in a daze for an afternoon", so in the sunset and in the slowly breezing cool wind, it is difficult to stay without a daze when seeing the beautiful golden scenery of Shili Beach in the distance. On the south coast of Shili Beach, there is the very interesting Fishing Net Dragging activity. (IMG_2211) (IMG_2235) The so called Fishing Net Dragging means that the fishermen use ㄇ-shaped nets to drag the fishing nets by labor power Then you will see many fishes, of course, including many globefishes, which are not practical for fishermen, and people often release them. People only leave the practical fishes in suitable sizes. Some too small fishes will also be released, because the fishermen say that that this can maintain the fishery resources. It is really a humane action good for environment conservation no wonder that
