Mango in Taiwan is originally imported by the Dutch and it's until the Japanese-ruled period that the species of Mangoes form Southern Asia started to be introduced to Taiwan. In 1961, Zhenzhou Zhang from Agriculture Experiment Center planted 100 saplings of Aiwen Mango in Zhenghanchi Garden in Yujing District and harvested a huge success in 1964. Isn't it amazing that our favorite Aiwen Mango has come a long way to be what we're seeing and tasting today? Want to know more interesting stores of mangoes?
