Protestantism and Catholicism are the main religions of the Dili villagers , just like other Bunun tribes , and chapels of both religions can be found in the village ; the Catholic church was erected in the village more than 50 years ago , and 80% of the villagers between the ages of 30 and 40 were delivered by nuns in the single-story house behind the church making this is an interesting record in Taiwan . Sitting on lush green lawns , the church was built with red bricks and feels simple yet grand . Most visitors will tread lightly around it to show their respect . The vanilla garden near the church is the source of ingredients that locals use for their cuisines and pastries . As taught by the nuns , the locals make vanilla-scented sachets to increase their income . Below the church is a basketball court , and this is the place where most athletic aborigines spend their teenage years .
