Green Island isn’t the original hom of the Sika Deer. It only took off when the deer industry started to take off in the1970s. At the peak, the deer population far exceeded the number islanders. After 1986, The deer industry started wain. Residents released the deer into the wild. There are currently more than 200 deer in the wild and it has become a unique tourist attraction on Green Island. The Sika Deer Ecological Park was therefore established. The facilities in the park include an information center, shops, viewing platform, captivity area, plant area and paintball playground. There are also guided tours offered. The combination of mountain and sea charm makes this a must-visit site.
