The inscribed stone stands on the top of Mount Taiwu. In 1952, late President Chiang Kai-shiek wrote the four Chinese characters. "Wu-Wang-Zai-Ju", literally meaning "Do not forget the experience in Ju" as a reminder of the national status to soldiers of Kinmen. Commander-in-Chief Hu Lien searched and found the place and the stone to have the characters inscribed. This big stone towers sky-high on the top of the mountain and faces south sea."Wu-Wang-Zai-Ju",refers to the story of General Tian Dan of the Qi State in the Warring States Period. Based on the two cities of Ju and Mo, the general defeated his enemy the Yen army with an array of fire-cows, recovering more than seventy lost cities. Citing the example, Chiang Kai-shiek meant to inspire soldiers and civilians in Kinmen and Taiwan to strive hard to recover the Chinese mainland.
