Hengchun Historical City, designated as a second-grade historic site, is the most completely preserved ancient gate in Taiwan. To defense external enemies is the reason why it was established. The establishment was proposed by Shen Bao Zhen, the minister of Qing Dynasty and the city address was chosen by Liu Ao who was familiar with geomancy.
