Kungang Lin was born in 1832 and was called Martial Xiucai, which referred he was physically and intellectually talented. Kungang Lin was passionate about local affairs. After the first Sino-Japan War, he led a volunteer army of 500 people to resist Japanese's occupancy because of his resentment of Japan's taking up Taiwan. Kungang Lin has been greatly remembered for the courageous event which he and his army were all sacrificed for. There is also Cultural Museum of the Martial God (Guanyu) on the third floor, introducing his spirit and life achievements.
