Bajiao (Octagon) Building is the best-kept wooden building in Yanshui District and also one of its landmarks. Bajiao (Octagon) Building was mainly built by wood approximately 120 years ago. The architecture is simple yet elegant and also an octagon exteriorly. The whole building was finished by the craftsmen form Fuzhou and featured with the characteristics of "San Jin Er Luo". The front part of the building was crashed by Japanese Army during the Pacific War; the central region was torn down when it's expanded during the Japan-ruled period; the back part of the building is what we could see nowadays. There are two floors in Bajiao (Octagon) Building. The first floor was made of bricks while the second one was completely composed of wood. One stone tablet in the yard reads the historical fact that Japanese Prince Fushimi Sadanaru ever resided here.
