The Niaosong Wetland is Taiwan’s first educational park to use the theme of an artificial wetland, and is primarily dedicated to education on nature and the ecology, followed by tourism and leisure. 89 species of bird, over 270 species of insect and over 300 species of plant have been recorded here; the Wetland has rich, diverse ecological resources and an excellent place for outdoor ecological education. Guided tour activities are held every weekend and at every holiday, and mallard ducks (Anas platyrhynchos), moorhens (Gallinula chloropus), and little egrets (Egretta garzetta) can be seen roaming the wetlands and water.
