The Victory Gate is located at the intersection of Huxia Village in Lieyu. In front of the white-arch shaped gate stands a victory monument that resembles an artillery-shell appearance. Kinmen had endured almost 470 thousand artillery shells during the 823 Artillery War. The island still stood proudly in the sea even under such fierce attack. The Victory Gate is a monument built to remember this glorious war, and has also become a tourist landmark of Lieyu.
