Zhu Zi was a great scholar of moral the ories in the South Sung dynasty. Blessed with his educational and cultural enlightenment, Kinmen found itse lf indulged in prevailing literary and academic atmosphere. After the Sung period, residents in the Zhang-Quan region, southern Fujian, built shrines or schools in memory of his educational and cultural enlightenment. In the 45th year of the Qien-lung reign, a shrine dedicated to Zhu Zi was built inside the Wujiang Academy in Kinmen.
