Since the Forestry Bureau was opened to the public in December 15, 1996, it has made a positive contribution to air quality, soil & water conservation, water supply protection and isolation in the eastern half of the island. It also offers an educational and entertaining tourist experience. The park consists of four themed museums:Forrest Recreation Park: Within the park is the Pine Boulevard, Children's Playground, Lawn Square, Water Activities Area, Ecological Forest, Forestry Museum, Wood Cabin Area, Bell & Drum Tower, Tourist Nursery etc.Forestry Information Hall: On display are the history of forestry developments in Kinmen, early forestation equipment and watering tools.Bird Exhibition Hall: On display within the hall are 42 species of birds commonly found in Kinmen. Apart from the pictorial displays, there are also text descriptions that cover their habits, migratory paths and the best spots for bird watching.Flower Exhibition Hall: The hall features pictures of local environmental greening efforts as well as native plants, beautification plants, protected plants and insect-catching plants. It serves as a venue for research information workshops.
